5 hospitals in Georgia with top nurse-patient communication scores

The following hospitals in Georgia received top marks on patients' HCAHPS surveys in the category of nurse communication.

At least 86 percent of patients at these five hospitals responded on their surveys that nurses always communicated well. In Georgia, the average is 80 percent, the same as the national average.

The figures are from CMS' Hospital Compare website and represent HCAHPS scores collected from January 2015 through December 2015, the most recent data available.

Note: Hospitals with fewer than 100 completed surveys were excluded from consideration for this list.

1. Southeastern Regional Medical Center (Newnan) — 91 percent

2. Evans Memorial Hospital (Claxton) — 89 percent

3. Northside Medical Center (Columbus) — 88 percent

4. Gordon Hospital (Calhoun) — 86 percent

5. Optim Medical Center-Tattnall (Reidsville) — 86 percent
