Numbers were calculated using the PSI 90 measure, a weighted average of the reliability-adjusted observed-to-expected ratios (indirect standardization of the smoothed rates) for several patient safety indicators.
The Hospital Compare data was gathered from July 1, 2012, through June 30, 2014, the most recent data available.
For reference, the national average rate for the ratio of serious complications to discharges is 0.81.
Note: Hospitals with insufficient patient survey data were excluded from the data sorting process.
