3 ways to increase patient satisfaction scores

As healthcare continues its shift to pay-for-performance, the patient becomes the most important asset in healthcare. But, how do hospitals make sure the patient is completely satisfied?

In a recent blog post on its reSOURCEs website, HealthTrust focuses in on three key areas that hospitals can utilize as a vehicle for success.

- Embrace Technology

Social media is a great way for hospitals and health systems to interact with patients and allow another opportunity for patients to have their questions and concerns addressed.

- Improve Communication

Patient satisfaction can easily decrease due to a bad interaction with a hospital staff member. From physicians to nurses, all staff members should take care to make their patients feel heard and understood.

- Ensure Cleanliness

Andy Gill, director of contracting and purchased services at HealthTrust, notes in the blog, "The cleanliness and appearance of the hospital has a tremendous effect on patient satisfaction scores."
