10 hospitals in Minnesota with top nurse-patient communication scores

The following hospitals in Minnesota received top marks on patients' HCAHPS surveys in the category of nurse communication.

At least 86 percent of patients at these 10 hospitals responded on their surveys that nurses always communicated well. In Minnesota, the average score is 83 percent, higher than the national average of 80 percent.

The figures are from CMS' Hospital Compare website and represent HCAHPS scores collected from April 2015 through March 2016, the most recent data available.

Note: Hospitals with fewer than 100 completed surveys were excluded from consideration for this list.

1. Bigfork Valley Hospital — 94 percent

2. River's Edge Hospital & Clinic — 89 percent

3. Centra Care Health Paynesville — 89 percent

4. Mayo Clinic Health System-Red Wing — 86 percent

5. Ridgeview Medical Center (Waconia) — 86 percent

6. Hutchinson Health — 86 percent

7. Riverwood Healthcare Center (Aitkin) — 86 percent

8. Sleepy Eye Municipal Hospital — 86 percent

9. Mayo Clinic Health System-New Prague — 86 percent

10. Perham Health — 86 percent
