Report of armed gunman prompts search at UC Health

The parking garage at the UC Health Business Center campus in Cincinnati was briefly closed on Friday after someone reported seeing an armed man on the premises.

Police were called to the UC Health Business Center, and the parking garage was briefly closed and searched. After searching the parking garage and the surrounding area, police told UC Health that no suspect fitting the description of the armed man was found. There were also no firearms found on the premises.

Although the report at UC Health may have been a false alarm and no gunman was apprehended, other hospitals have dealt with active shooters this year. In October, a sheriff's investigator was shot and killed by a patient he was guarding at St. Cloud (Minn.) Hospital. Last month, two people died in a murder-suicide shooting at Florida Hospital's Tampa location.
