Becker's Healthcare, a national healthcare media company and supporter of hospitals' mission to advance the health of individuals and communities, supports the mission of the American Hospital Association-led Coalition to Protect America's Health Care and has made a financial contribution to the cause.
Founded in 2000, the Coalition to Protect America's Health Care represents the interests and patients of more than 5,000 community, children's, teaching, public, religious, rehabilitation, behavioral health and long-term hospitals.
The Coalition, based in Bethesda, Md., resists congressional and executive action that threatens U.S. hospitals, including cuts to hospital funding and changes in insurance policy that make coverage less affordable and accessible.
"In honor of the AHA and the leadership of its chairman-elect, Nancy Howell Agee, we are thrilled to contribute to the Coalition to Protect America's Health Care," said Scott Becker, publisher of Chicago-based Becker's Healthcare. "As a proponent of ensuring hospital and health system leaders have the resources they need to make informed decisions, we support the Coalition and its represented hospitals, which provide vital care to millions of Americans."
"The AHA is a critical organization for the healthcare industry," said Jessica Cole, president and CEO of Becker's Healthcare. "We are thrilled to be able to support its work and the Coalition's efforts to protect hospitals' financial viability."
