Here are the 25 largest children's hospitals in the United States, based on beds available for patient use.
Note: This list is based on bed figures from the American Hospital Directory. These bed counts include medical/surgical and special care beds as reported to CMS by the hospitals in their most recent cost reports.
Hospitals report the number of beds available for use by patients at the end of their most recent cost report period. Beds in certain care settings, such as postoperative recovery or emergency rooms, that are utilized for only a portion of the patients' stay are not included in AHD's data collection.
Some children's hospitals do not have individual listings on AHD, as they share provider numbers with a flagship facility or other hospital on their campuses. If your children's hospital has enough staffed beds for inclusion on this list, contact Heather Punke at hpunke@beckershealthcare.com.
