James Andrews, MD (Andrews Sports Medicine, Birmingham, Ala.). Dr. Andrews is one of the founding members of Andrews Sports Medicine in Birmingham, Ala., and the founder of the American Sports Medicine Institute, a non-profit institute dedicated to injury prevention, education and research in orthopedics and sports medicine. He has made significant contributions to knee, shoulder and elbow injury prevention and treatment.

Dr. Andrews received his medical degree from the Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans and completed his orthopedic residency at Tulane Medical School. He completed surgical fellowships at the University of Virginia School of Medicine in Charlottesville, Va., and at the University of Lyon (France.) He is a member of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is president-elect of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine and served on the board of directors of the Arthroscopy Association of North America and the International Knee Society.

Brian J. Cole, MD, MBA (Midwest Orthopedics at Rush, Chicago).
Dr. Cole is a professor in the department of orthopedics with a conjoint appointment in the department of anatomy and cell biology at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. He is the section head of the cartilage research program at Rush University Medical Center and the Cartilage Restoration Center at Rush, a multidisciplinary program specializing in the restoration of articular cartilage and meniscal deficiency. He also serves as the head of the orthopedic master's program and trains residents and fellows in sports medicine. Dr. Cole is the team physician for the Chicago Bulls basketball team and co-team physician for the Chicago White Sox baseball team and DePaul University in Chicago.

Dr. Cole specializes in arthroscopic shoulder, elbow and knee surgery with a specific interest in arthroscopic reconstruction of the athlete's shoulder, elbow and knee. He is the principal investigator for numerous FDA clinical trials and regularly performs basic science research. Dr. Cole received his medical degree from the University of Chicago and completed his residency at The Hospital for Special Surgery in New York and his sports medicine fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh. He is a member of numerous national societies and serves on the board of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and assumes many high level positions on society organizing committees.

John D. DiPaola, MD (Occupational Orthopedics, Portland, Ore.). Dr. DiPaola is founder of Occupational Orthopedics and a partner at East Portland Surgical Center in Portland, Ore., where he treats numerous knee conditions. After 12 years practicing general orthopedics, Dr. DiPaola established Occupational Orthopedics, the only specialty practice in the United States providing personalized care exclusively for injured workers. He is the current medical director for Oregon Health Systems and Montana Health Systems. Dr. DiPaola regularly speaks about injured workers' care at regional and national meetings.

Jack Farr, MD (Cartilage Restoration Center of Indiana, Indianapolis). Dr. Farr is the medical director for the Cartilage Restoration Center of Indiana. Over the past 20 years, following completion of his orthopedic surgery residency at Indiana University Medical Center, Dr. Farr has focused his practice in sports medicine and knee restoration. His numerous appointments and affiliations include a clinical associate professorship in orthopedic surgery at Indiana University Medical Center and a board position with the Cartilage Research Foundation.

David Fisher, MD (OrthoIndy, Indianapolis, Ind.). Dr. Fisher is an orthopedic surgeon with OrthoIndy, where he focuses on treating patients who suffer from arthritis, including rheumatoid arthritis, and degenerative diseases of the knee as well as total joint replacement. Freddie H. Fu, MD (University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Pittsburgh).
Dr. Fu is the David Silver Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery and chairman of the department of orthopedic surgery at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, where he was previously the department's executive vice chairman. Dr. Fu has been the head team physician for the University of Pittsburgh department of athletics since 1986 and holds secondary appointments at the university as professor of physical therapy and health physical and recreational education. Dr. Fu is known worldwide for his pioneering surgical techniques to treat sports-related injuries to the knee and shoulder and his extensive scientific and clinical research in the biomechanics of such injuries.

John Gill, MD (Dallas Sports Medicine Specialists, Dallas). Dr. Gill is an orthopedic surgeon with Dallas Sports Medicine Specialists and the Texas Institute for Surgery. He specializes in the treatment of injuries and disorders of the knee, arthroscopic surgery and knee ligament reconstruction. He is a past president of the Texas Orthopaedic Association and a past chair of the board of councilors of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Scott Gillogly, MD (Atlanta Knee and Shoulder Clinic, Atlanta). Dr. Gillogly is founder of the Atlanta Knee and Shoulder Clinic and formed a sub-specialty group of the clinic, the Atlanta Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Center. Dr. Gillogly specializes in cartilage restoration, complex knee disorders, biologic knee reconstruction as well as sports and shoulder injuries and serves as the head team physician and orthopedic surgeon for the Atlanta Thrashers hockey team and the Atlanta Falcons football team. Dr. Gillogly completed a distinguished military career in the Army Medical Corps with the rank of lieutenant colonel. E. Marlowe Goble, MD (Salt River Orthopedics, Afton, Wyo.). Dr. Goble has been a pioneering knee surgeon for the over 30 years and is best known in orthopedics as one of the top surgeons in ACL reconstruction and meniscal allograft transplants. He performed one of thee first minimally-invasive knee replacement procedures and holds more than 70 patents. He currently practices at Salt River Orthopedics in Afton, Wyo., serves as the director of the Utah State University medical device testing laboratory in the department of animal science and is an adjunct professor in the department of orthopedic surgery at the University of Utah. His previous work included founding several companies, including MedicineLodge, an orthopedic technology development firm; Facet Solutions, a facet arthroplasty device company; and Frontier Biomedical, a leader in comparative medicine. Dr. Goble has had several other notable achievements including serving as a lead surgeon for Zimmer on the prosthetic ACL development and as Utah State University team physician.

Christopher Harner (University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Pittsburgh). Dr. Harner specializes in sports medicine, with a focus in knee, ligament and cartilage injuries, at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He serves as the chief and medical director of the division of sports medicine and is a professor of orthopedic surgery at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Dr. Harner received his medical degree from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Mich., and completed his residency at UPSM. Chris Leslie, DO (Leslie Ortho, Camdenton, Mo.). Dr. Leslie is an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in total joint replacement and sports medicine at his practice, Leslie Ortho, in Camdenton, Mo. He serves as the chief medical officer and head team physician for the Boston Celtics and has performed surgery on many high-profile athletes. He performs surgery and is an owner of Boston Out-Patient Surgical Suites in Waltham, Mass. He received his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C., and completed his residency at the University of Connecticut in Storrs, Conn. He completed a fellowship in sports medicine at the New England Baptist Hospital in Boston. Mark D. Miller, MD (University of Virginia, Charlottesville, Va.). Dr. Miller is an orthopedic surgeon at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, where he specializes in sports medicine and the treatment of knee injuries, such as complex ligament reconstruction, articular cartilage restoration and repair and meniscal repair and transplantation, as well as shoulder conditions. He is the S. Ward Casscells Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Virginia and a team physician at James Madison University. He has authored over 100 peer-reviewed articles and 20 textbooks, including the best-selling text, Review of Orthopaedics, now in its fifth edition; and is the deputy editor for sports medicine for The Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery.

Dr. Miller is a retired Air Force Colonel and graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy. He received his medical degree from the Uniformed Services University School of Medicine in Bethesda, Md., and completed his residency at the Wilford USAF Medical Center at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. He completed a fellowship in sports medicine at the University of Pittsburgh.

Frank R. Noyes, MD (Cincinnati Sportsmedicine and Orthopaedic Center, Cincinnati, Ohio).
Dr. Noyes is founder of the Cincinnati (Ohio) Sportsmedicine and Orthopaedic Center and director of The Noyes Knee Center. He is an internationally recognized authority on the diagnosis and treatment of complex knee problems. In 1975, he joined the department of orthopedic surgery at the University of Cincinnati and started Cincinnati's first sports medicine program. He also established the Noyes-Giannestras Biomechanics Laboratories within the University of Cincinnati College of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering, and today serves as a clinical professor with the school's department of orthopedic surgery and an adjunct professor with the department of biomedical engineering. Dr. Noyes received his medical degree from George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C. He completed an internship and orthopedic residency at the University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor, Mich.

Michael B. Purnell, MD (Orthomed Center, Modesto, Calif.). Dr. Purnell is an orthopedic surgeon at Orthomed Center in Modesto, Calif. He specializes in sports medicine with a focus on the knee and shoulder and has more than 19 years of clinical practice experience. His clinical interests and expertise include computer-assisted knee arthroplasty, complex reconstruction of knee instabilities including ACL, PCL and dislocations, treatment of meniscus and cartilage abnormalities. Clarence L. Shields Jr, MD (Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic, Los Angeles). He has received the Albert Trillat Young Investigator's Award from the International Society of the Knee, the Cabaud Award from the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine, the Resident's Essay Award from the Arthroscopy Association of North America and has received 41 U.S. patents for his work since 1989. Michael J. Stuart (Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minn.).
Dr. Stuart is a surgeon and a professor of orthopedics at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., where he specializes in knee surgery, including arthroscopy and knee ligament reconstruction. He received his medical degree from Rush University in Chicago and completed a residency in orthopedics at Mayo Graduate School of Medicine. He also completed a fellowship in sports medicine at University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario, Canada. Dr. Stuart has published numerous articles on knee surgery and ligament reconstruction. David Raab, MD (Illinois Bone and Joint Institute, Morton Grove, Ill.). Dr. Raab is a senior partner and one of the founding members of Illinois Bone and Joint Institute, one of the country's largest orthopedic and musculoskeletal practices. He has been in practice for 17 years as a board-certified orthopedic surgeon in suburban Chicago. His practice is focused on surgical and non-surgical management of the knee, shoulder and hip, as well as sports medicine and work-related injuries. Dr. Raab's surgical specialties include arthroscopic knee, shoulder and sports medicine surgery, as well as total knee and hip replacement. David Yasgur, MD, MEng, FAAOS (Mount Kisco Medical Group, Katonah, N.Y.). Dr. Yasgur is an orthopedic surgeon with Mount Kisco Medical Group in Katonah, N.Y., and specializes in knee surgery, arthroscopy, joint replacement and sports medicine, among other areas.
