The Washington attorney general filed a campaign finance complaint against Service Employees International Healthcare Union No. 775 on Thursday, alleging the union failed to properly file reports of in-kind and financial contributions as required by the state's campaign finance laws, according to the Associated Press.
The attorney general's complaint was filed after the Public Disclosure Commission reviewed a citizen complaint from the Freedom Foundation and determined the union violated the requirement to report in-kind contributions of staff time to operate and manage its political action committee, according to the report.
Adam Glickman, the union's secretary, said the issue is a technical problem, and the union will fix any mistake it made, according to the report.
