Madison County Community Health Center in Anderson, Ind., has agreed to pay $190,000 to resolve allegations the center operated as a "pill mill," according to The Herald Bulletin.
Nilda Durany, MD, who worked at the center from 2010 to 2011, originally brought the allegations in 2012. The federal government joined Dr. Durany in her case.
The physician filed her suit after Drug Enforcement Administration agents raided MCCHC and found prescription notepads that had been pre-signed by the medical director of the center, according to the report.
Under the agreement, MCCHC will pay $100,000 to the federal government and $90,000 to Berger and Montague, the law firm that represented Dr. Durany.
