You can't put a price on a good night's sleep. At least that's what one man in Florida may have been thinking on the muggy, 91-degree afternoon of July 5.
Lance James Sayre entered the operating room area of Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater, Fla. a bit before 2 p.m. that day. Security cameras filmed his movements as Mr. Sayre grabbed hold of an operating bed valued at $48,000, wheeled it to a loading dock and crammed it into a van.
Police arrested Mr. Sayre on July 11 on charges of burglary and grand theft. He was released that same day on a $15,000 bond, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office.
