GC LabTech partnered with 1health.io to deliver new lab tests directly to consumers and grow into the at-home testing market.
The new health and wellness tests developed by GC LabTech will be sold in the direct-to-consumer sector, which already has a $1 billion market, according to a report from Transparency Marketing.
1health.io will use its direct-to-consumer platform to enable GC LabTech to sell its tests. The platform has an e-commerce storefront and features to manage patient information, including kit registration, sample tracking and reporting, according to an Oct. 24 news release.
GC LabTech had previously attempted to enter the at-home testing market but did not have the correct infrastructure to make the tests available to consumers.
"1health was the missing link we needed to sell our lab testing products directly to consumers," GC LabTech COO Brian Clark said in the press release.
