The healthcare industry added 45,700 jobs last month, according to the most recent jobs report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
This is an increase from April, when healthcare added 44,200 jobs.
Within the healthcare industry, ambulatory healthcare services employment grew the most, by 23,500 jobs in May. Hospitals added 16,500 jobs last month, while nursing care facilities added 4,700.
Over the past year, healthcare has added 487,000 jobs, according to the BLS.
