Healthcare employment grew by 38,500 jobs in June, with hospitals contributing 15,000 of those, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics' jobs report released Friday.
Ambulatory healthcare services contributed 19,300 jobs, and nursing and residential care facilities added 4,200 jobs last month.
The hospital and ambulatory services job gains were roughly in line with each industry's average monthly gains over the past 12 months, according to the BLS.
Overall, the U.S. added 287,000 jobs in June.
