Deerfield, Ill.-based Walgreens launched its Center for Health & Wellbeing Research, a website featuring more than 50 research studies conducted in tandem with institutions like Baltimore-based Johns Hopkins Medicine and the University of Chicago Medicine during the past six years.
The website comprises summaries, links and original documents related to company research reports and studies published in various peer-reviewed medical journals and healthcare publications. Areas of research include access to care and patient experience, digital health, vaccinations and healthcare costs, among others.
Walgreens researchers worked with several prominent academic institutions to conduct the studies, including La Jolla, Calif.-based Scripps Translational Science Institute and UC San Francisco School of Pharmacy.
"Our goal is, through scientific research, to help improve patient care and outcomes while lowering healthcare costs. We are dedicated to providing value to healthcare on a national scale and the Walgreens Center for Health & Wellbeing Research will showcase the work we are doing every day to advance that mission," said Harry Leider, MD CMO and group vice president of Walgreens.
