Oglethorpe, Ga.-based Hutcheson Medical Center, which filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy protection about a year ago, may soon be purchased by Ontario, Calif.-based Prime Healthcare Services, according to a Times Free Press report.
Prime has made a $7 million offer to buy the hospital's main campus, surgery center, childcare center and most of its real estate, according to the report.
Chattanooga, Tenn.-based Erlanger Medical Center may fight the purchase in court, as Erlanger claims Hutcheson owes it approximately $30 million.
