Manhattan, N.Y.-based NYULangoneMedicalCenter and Winthrop-UniversityHospital in Mineola, N.Y., have signed a non-binding letter of intent to discuss the possibility of forming a healthcare network, according to hospital officials.
John Collins, president and CEO of Winthrop, said the 591-bed hospital had explored possible partnerships with a number of major healthcare systems but eventually settled on NYU Langone because of the hospital's "mutual commitment to improving quality, medical excellence, a complementary geographic presence, and, most importantly, compatibility [in] our cultures."
Robert Grossman, MD, dean and CEO of NYU Langone said his hospital is similarly committed to "creating mutually beneficial partnerships with leading healthcare providers."
