Ministry Door County Medical Center in Sturgeon Bay, Wis., and Springfield, Ill.-based Hospital Sisters Health System announced they will enter into a minority interest affiliation that will permit the two organizations to work as partners, according to hospital officials.
MDCMC President and CEO Gerald Worrick said patients will see very little change in their daily experience and will continue to see the same "friendly faces…[and] providers who live and work here in our community…and the same specialists who serve patients here."
MDCMC is a 25-bed acute-care hospital and outpatient medical center with a staff of more than 175 physicians. HSHS has 14 hospitals and more than 200 physician clinic sites in Wisconsin and Illinois.
The MDCMC, HSHS partnership will take effect by the end of 2016. Mr. Worrick will serve as president of the joint venture.
