Lafayette (La.) General Health and New Orleans-based Ochsner Health System have formed a strategic partnership focused on increasing access to care, improving quality and reducing healthcare costs.
Through the partnership, LGH will become a part of the Ochsner Health Network, and the two organizations will focus on alignment through a clinically integrated physician network and expansion of patient services, among other things.
"The LGH network has grown tremendously and is very strong, but through this partnership, we are now stronger," said David L. Callecod, president of LGH.
Ochsner Health System President and CEO Warner Thomas shared Mr. Callecod's excitement about the deal. "Two of the highest quality organizations in the state are coming together as partners in the Ochsner Health Network around a common goal —our patients," said Mr. Thomas. "Together we will share best practices and resources to expand our ability to deliver additional services to both patients and physicians across western Louisiana, the state and the region."
