There were 385 healthcare transactions reported in the third quarter of fiscal year 2015 — a new record for any third quarter.
The greatest percentage (23 percent) of the transactions occurred in the long-term care sector, according to a report by Irving Levin Associates. Many of the deals were in the pharmaceuticals and biotechnology sectors, each making up 11 percent of the transactions, respectively.
Hospital deals made up 8 percent of the total third-quarter transactions, the same amount as medical devices and eHealth deals, according to the report.
