BJC HealthCare, a nonprofit system based in St. Louis, has finalized an agreement to purchase Farmington, Mo.-based Mineral Area Regional Medical Center from Capella Healthcare, based in Franklin, Tenn.
Under the agreement, MARMC will operate as part of BJC's Parkland Health Center, which is also located in Farmington.
"This is good news for our community in this time of unprecedented change and increasing healthcare costs," said Tom Karl, president of Parkland Health Center. "Combining these organizations will improve our financial stability which is necessary to continue providing exceptional care to patients living in our community."
