1. Meadowlands Hospital draws $12.2M bid
Yan Moshe, owner and CEO of Hackensack, N.J.-based Excel Surgery Center, offered to purchase 204-bed Meadowlands Hospital Medical Center in Secaucus, N.J., for $12.2 million.
2. German hospital network adds 43 Spanish hospitals in $6.42B takeover
Bad Homburg, Germany-based Fresenius SE, Europe's largest publicly traded healthcare provider, purchased Spain's largest private hospital operator, IDC Salud Holding, for $6.42 billion
3. KU Hospital partners with Hays hospital
Kansas City-based The University of Kansas Hospital signed a letter of intent to partner with Hays (Kan.) MedicalCenter to enhance patient care in rural areas.
4. State makes final offer on LSU hospital deals
State officials will make their final offer to the Shreveport, La.-based Biomedical Research Foundation of Northwest Louisiana for a renegotiated contract to continue operating hospitals affiliated with Louisiana State University in Shreveport and Monroe.
5. Dartmouth-Hitchcock wins $36.5M contract to staff NH hospitals
Lebanon, N.H.-based Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital, owned by Lebanon, N.H.-based Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, will officially provide staffing and administrative services to various state medical institutions.
6. CHS ups divestitures, will sell more than 12 hospitals
Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems will divest more hospitals than anticipated as it continues to develop its downsizing plans.
