The University of Buffalo (N.Y.) Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences welcomed the incoming 180-member 2021 class of medical students — the largest class of the students the university has ever seen, according to WKBW Buffalo News.
Officials said the larger class size was made possible by creation of the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus in downtown Buffalo, which is scheduled to open in January 2018.
Students will spend one semester at the current medical school facility before transferring to the new medical campus.
More than 80 percent of the incoming class of students are from the state of New York, the report states.
