TriHealth lures 3 cardiologists from rival health system

Three veteran cardiologists have left their posts at Cincinnati-based Christ Hospital to join their local rival, Cincinnati-based TriHealth, according to the Cincinnati Business Courier.

Effective Aug. 1, Pete Caples, MD, Patrick Shea, MD and Chris Thoresen, MD, became TriHealth staff physicians.

"We are privileged these highly experienced cardiologists have chosen TriHealth," said Lisa Baker, executive director of the TriHealth Heart Institute, according to the report. "These exceptional physicians will continue to deliver comprehensive and advanced care, complementing the quality cardiology care provided by the institute."

The TriHealth Heart Institute provides cardiac care for nearly 70,000 patients per year, ranging from diagnostics to surgical procedures at facilities throughout the Cincinnati region.

The three physicians will see patients at Bethesda North Hospital in Montgomery, Ohio, as well as other TriHealth hospitals.
