In a recent report by Alpharetta, Ga.-based Jackson Healthcare, physicians whose income decreased in the past year, 61 percent would not encourage a career in the medical field.
Moreover, only 35 percent of participating physicians whose income increased say they are very likely to recommend a career in the field to a young person, according to the report.
Physicians seem less likely to recommend a career in the medical field due to the impacts of decreasing reimbursements, billing and collection hassles and lifestyle choices, according to the report.
A total of 1,527 physicians participated in the survey conducted between April 18 and June 5.
