All the states with the highest rate of physicians per 10,000 civilians are in the Northeast, according to a Statista report.
The report, published Sept. 21, found the top 10 states, including the District of Columbia, with the highest rate of active physicians per 10,000 civilians in 2019.
Here are the states ranked by active physicians:
District of Columbia: 72.8
Massachusetts: 47.9
Rhode Island: 42.9
Vermond: 41.6
Maryland: 41
New York: 39.9
Connecticut: 38.9
Pennsylvania: 35.7
New Jersey: 34.6
Maine: 34.5
