St. Louis-based Anheuser-Busch is one of the largest brewing companies in the world and owes the success of its personnel to a focus on talent management within the C-suite, according to an op-ed in Chief Executive.
Sandro Bassili, Anheuser-Busch's head of people, writes that involving C-suite executives in the recruitment process not only ensures that only the most qualified candidates are hired, but demonstrates the company's commitment to those candidates.
He argues that a company's success is ultimately dependent upon the motivation of its employees, and nothing makes employees feel more valued then engaging with the company's top executives.
"Our industry is highly competitive and complex, so continuing to attract great people and build a meritocracy where people advance based on results, ability and commitment is a top priority," writes Mr. Bassili. "When our C-suite is spending full days recruiting undergrads, our people realize that we truly believe people are our greatest asset."
