President Donald Trump tweeted Monday that he could not "imagine that Congress would leave Washington" for their August break "without a beautiful new Healthcare bill fully approved and ready to go!"
The Senate returned from their July 4 recess with the fate of the Better Care Reconciliation Act still up in the air. Though there have been some funding changes and a proposed amendment from Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, the divide between conservatives and moderates within the Republican party has only grown wider as the debate surrounding the bill has continued.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., has sent two versions of the bill for the Congressional Budget Office to score, and hopes to hold a vote on the matter once the CBO completes evaluations.
