Stanford (Calif.) Health Care cut 123 positions, down from the 168 it initially anticipated, according to a statement provided to Becker's Hospital Review.
The health system said the revision reflects the fact that 45 of the 168 employees were able to stay at the organization in other positions or due to opportunities within their current department.
The health system first declared the layoffs in January. Stanford attributed the cuts to an everchanging healthcare climate, both at the regional and national level, as well as "its need to lower operating expenses."
