Asheboro, N.C.-based Randolph Hospital has notified employees it will cut 66 positions from its workforce by Oct. 1, according to an Asheboro Courier-Tribune report.
Of the 66 positions to be axed, 50 are currently filled by employees, according to the report. The hospital plans to put 15 of the affected employees in vacant jobs within the organization.
The workforce cuts were deemed necessary due to various reimbursement reductions and North Carolina's decision to not expand Medicaid, changes that will result in a $5 million loss for Randolph Hospital, according to the report.
