Dr. Tom Price rumored to be Trump's pick to lead HHS

After reports surfaced Tuesday that Rep. Tom Price, MD, R-Ga., was being considered for the top spot at HHS, the congressman was seen visiting Trump Tower in Manhattan Wednesday afternoon.

Republican sources close to the Trump campaign told Politico Rep. Price is a logical choice for the position — he has been an official supporter of President-elect Donald Trump since his endorsement in May and campaigned with the candidate ahead of the election, according to Politico.

Fueling speculations, Rep. Price was spotted coming and going Wednesday afternoon from Trump Tower, the current home base for Mr. Trump's transition team, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Rep. Price reportedly spent about an hour in the building. However, his press team has not issued any statements regarding the potential Cabinet position.

Rep. Price is an orthopedic surgeon who practiced for two decades before launching his political career. He has been a staunch advocate for repealing and replacing the ACA.

Former Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, R, may also be in the running for HHS secretary, according to Politico.
