Martha Stratton, MSN, RN, who is vice president of perioperative services at Doctors Hospital of Augusta (Ga.), has taken over as president of the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses. She was previously the president-elect.
AORN also welcomed newly elected officers and board members after its annual business meeting April 6.
The new officers are:
- Nathalie Walker, RN, who became president-elect. She is a member of the Louisiana Nursing Supply and Demand Commission, a sub-committee of the Health Works Commission of Louisiana.
- Missi Merlino, RN, who became vice president. She is a staff nurse II at Baylor Scott & White Health Surgery Center at the Pavilion in Temple, Texas.
- Holly Ervine, MSN, RN, who became secretary. Ms. Ervine is a perioperative clinical educator at WellStar Cobb Hospital in Austell, Ga.
The new board members are:
- Elizabeth Pincus, MSN, RN, a clinical nurse specialist at NewYork-Presbyterian Lower Manhattan Hospital in New York and a per diem nurse at New York-based Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
- Carrie Simpson, BSN, RN, a clinical educator for the operating room at University Medical Center New Orleans.
- Dawn Myers Yost, MSN, RN, the business manager at West Virginia University Medicine in Morgantown.
