1. Lakes Region General Hospital plans workforce adjustment: 3 things to know
Lakes Region General Hospital in Laconia, N.H., eliminated 22 positions. While 22 positions were eliminated, some other new job titles have been or will be created to meet the changing needs.
2. Jameson Health System cuts services, jobs
New Castle, Pa.-based Jameson Health System announced its South Campus hospital will no longer be open 24 hours a day, and instead will offer services only during the day on weekdays. Additionally, the South Campus will no longer provide inpatient behavioral health services at any time. According to a news release, "a number of positions" will be cut. The inpatient unit will close in mid August.
3. Harbor Hospital closes temporarily, lays off employees
Roughly 70 employees at Harbor Hospital, a long-term acute-care facility in Beaumont, Texas, received layoff notices. The hospital has closed temporarily after an investigation found patient safety issues.
