10 things to know about West Park Hospital

Cody, Wyo.-based West Park Hospital is a primary, full-service hospital for communities throughout the Big Horn Basin area in Wyoming.

Here are 10 things to know about the hospital.

1. West Park is a 25-bed critical access hospital with an annual net revenue of more than $100 million, according to CEO Mr. McMillan.

2. The hospital boasts a number of service lines, including a full-service cancer center and hospice facility. 

3. West Park is also home to a 94-bed long-term care center and a 16-bed chemical dependency center.

4. The facility provides in-house nutrition services through meal service options for patients and food and beverage items for visitors at its bistro and two coffee shops.

5. Officials operate under the "Planetree philosophy," which aims to enhance patient comfort by "personalizing, humanizing and demystifying the healthcare experience."

6. The facility employs more than 500 staff members and nearly 60 physicians. The hospital includes a neurosurgeon, five orthopedic surgeons, three general surgeons and three OB/GYN physicians.

7. West Park maintains a seven-member board of trustees and is led by CEO Doug McMillan.

8. The hospital was named one of Hospital & Health Network's "Most Wired Hospitals" of 2017.

9. Mr. McMillian told Becker's Hospital Review the hospital will soon become one of the first critical access hospitals in the nation to have a catheterization laboratory through a joint venture with Billings (Mont.) Clinic.

10. West Park maintains an affiliated foundation which provides philanthropic support to the hospital for programs, services and equipment to ensure patients receive adequate attention and care.
