Chicago-based Prism Healthcare Partners is growing its senior leadership team with the promotion of two managing partners, who share more than 50 years of experience combined.
Here are nine things to know about the promotions at Prism, which took effect March 1.
1. David Shade, president and CEO, will remain actively involved in Prism's operations as chairman. Mr. Shade co-founded Prism Healthcare Partners in 2013, and the firm has experienced explosive growth under his leadership. As chairman, Mr. Shade will oversee policy and direction of Prism's board, focus on value creation for the firm, its clients and staff, and provide continued guidance to Mukesh Gangwal and Bradley Fetters, whose promotions are detailed next. Mr. Shade is pictured below on the right, Mr. Gangwal on the left and Mr. Fetters on the bottom right.
2. Mr. Gangwal, managing partner, assumes the role and responsibilities of president and CEO. Mr. Gangwal joined Prism in 2013 as managing partner after holding leadership positions at several global consulting firms. In his new role, he will drive Prism's strategy, cultivate its client base, manage economics and oversee staff.
3. Mr. Fetters, managing partner, assumes the role and responsibilities of COO. Mr. Fetters joined Prism in 2013 and quickly rose to managing partner. As COO, he will manage firm operations, execute Prism's sales and marketing strategy, and direct service line development.
4. Both Mr. Gangwal and Mr. Fetters will continue their client service responsibilities in addition to their new roles. Mr. Gangwal will continue to lead Prism's revenue cycle service line and remain actively involved in client engagements. Mr. Fetters will continue to steer the firm's workforce services and lead client projects across the country.
5. Prism's leadership promotions support the firm's expanding portfolio of services and base of healthcare provider clients. "We have experienced exceptional growth in the areas that are the core tenets of Prism: value delivered to our clients, professional growth of our staff and the financial strength of our firm," says Mr. Shade. "We partner with clients in key verticals in the provider space, such as academic medical centers, children's hospitals, integrated delivery systems and community hospitals."
Mr. Shade cited examples of these clients, including Children's Hospital of Orange (Calif.) County, Aspirus (Wausau, Wis.), Duke Health (Durham, N.C.), United Health Services (Binghamton, N.Y.), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare (Chicago), Providence Health and Services (Renton, Wash.) and Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth (Kan.).
6. "It's very exciting for me to see the growth and evolution of Prism Healthcare Partners," says Scott Becker, publisher of Becker's Healthcare.
"This team started this firm just a few years ago with some the most respected, senior level hands-on consultants in healthcare. I've known David Shade and Mukesh Gangwal for nearly two decades. What they have accomplished in the last three years with Prism is nothing short of remarkable. Prism is in a mode of terrific growth, and the promotions of David to chairman of the board, Mukesh to president and CEO, and Brad to COO reflect this growth and preparation for the next decade."
7. "Mukesh and Brad have been pivotal in establishing Prism as a premier healthcare consultancy," says Mr. Shade. "With their deep experience, understanding of the challenges and opportunities of today's healthcare market, and vision for the future, this move is a natural next step for them. I am proud to share Prism's leadership with Mukesh and Brad and look forward to seeing them continue Prism's mission of providing superior client service and market-relevant solutions."
8. Mr. Fetters and Mr. Gangwal expressed both gratitude to Mr. Shade for his leadership and excitement with the opportunity to continue working alongside the co-founder as he assumes the chairman role.
"Prism has been tremendously successful over the past three years as a result of David's extraordinary leadership and foresight," said Mr. Gangwal. "Brad and I are excited to intensify that momentum through both organic and acquisitive growth."
"David has created a powerful legacy of leadership, service excellence, keen industry understanding and commitment to staff development," commented Fetters. "We will build on that foundation to elevate Prism to the next level of performance and deliver even more value and expertise to our clients and our people."
