Dayton Children's names Chris Bergman CFO: 6 things to know

Chris Bergman has been named CFO of Dayton (Ohio) Children's Hospital.

Here are six things to know about Mr. Bergman.

1. He has more than 35 years of healthcare experience.

2. Most recently, he was CFO and vice president at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, where he was directly responsible for financial reporting/accounting, data governance, reimbursement, payer relations, supply chain, patient financial services, admitting and registration, central scheduling and medical records and coding.

3. At Christ Hospital, he led a master facility planning effort, resulting in the creation of a $282 million expansion and the addition of five ambulatory outpatient centers, among other accomplishments, according to a news release.

4. Previously, Mr. Bergman was CFO of Sparrow Health System in Lansing, Mich., and vice president of finance at Englewood, Colo.-based Centura Health.

5. Mr. Bergman comes to his new role as Dayton Children's Hospital has several major projects already underway, including a $153 million patient tower and an expansion of the Springboro Urgent Care location. 

6. Mr. Bergman replaces David Miller, who retired at the end of 2015.
