Phoenix-based Banner Health has named new CFOs to serve at four of its Arizona campuses.
Here are 15 things to know about the four leaders.
Derek Lythgoe will serve Banner Baywood Medical Center and Banner Heart Hospital in Mesa.
1. Mr. Lythgoe joins Banner Baywood and Banner Heart Sept. 14.
2. He has 25 years of experience in healthcare financial management.
3. He joins Banner from Capital Medical Center in Olympia, Wash., where he serves as CFO.
4. Mr. Lythgoe previously worked for Nashville, Tenn.-based Hospital Corporation of America, where he served as CFO and held other positions in finance.
Cheryl Tong will serve Banner Desert Medical Center and Cardon Children's Medical Center in Mesa.
5. Ms. Tong joined Banner Desert and Cardon Children's Aug. 24.
6. She has more than 28 years of diverse experience in finance and accounting with 17 of those spent in healthcare, including leadership positions in nonprofit and for-profit health systems.
7. Most recently, Ms. Tong served as corporate CFO for Avanti Hospitals, a four-hospital healthcare system in the Los Angeles area.
8. Prior to her role with Avanti, she served as CFO of Antelope Valley Healthcare District in Lancaster, Calif.
Thomas Matenaer will serve Banner Gateway Medical Center and Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center in Gilbert.
9. Mr. Matenaer will join Banner Gateway and Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center Aug. 31.
10. He comes to Banner from Health First Medical Group in Melbourne, Fla., where he served as CFO.
11. Prior to his role with Health First Medical Group, Mr. Matenaer worked for Dignity Health as CFO of St. Joseph's Medical Group in Phoenix and has held other various CFO and vice president positions with other health systems throughout his career.
Darcy Robertson will serve Banner Payson Medical Center.
12. Ms. Robertson willjoin Banner Payson from Banner's PageHospital Aug. 31.
13. During her time as CFO in Page, Ms. Robertson was a skilled member of the finance team and demonstrated a commitment to providing the highest levels of quality patient care, according to Banner.
14. She joined Banner in 2013.
15. She holds a bachelor's degree from Tucson-based University of Arizona and a master's degree from Phoenix-based Grand Canyon University.
