1. Cleveland-based MetroHealth has hired Cheryl Forino Wahl to be its first ever chief ethics and compliance officer and senior vice president.
2. Brent James, MD, will resign as chief quality officer of Salt Lake City, Utah-based Intermountain Healthcare effective August 26.
3. Mark Marcantano, president and COO of Providence, R.I.-based Women and Infants Hospital, has resigned effective July 28.
4. Toronto-based hospital owner Medical Facilities Corp., appointed Robert Horrar COO.
5. Gainesville, Ga.-based Northeast Georgia Health System has named Brian D. Steines as its new CFO.
6. Randall K. Gibb, MD, has been named permanent CEO of Billings (Mont.) Clinic after serving on an interim basis since November.
7.Dothan, Ala.-based Flowers Hospital has named Thomas Roddy as its COO.
8. First Choice Healthcare Solutions, a nonphysician-owned, publicly traded healthcare services company in Melbourne, Fla., named Phillip Keller CFO.
9. Carl Bergetz, JD, is the new chief legal officer for Chicago-based Rush and senior vice president for legal affairs and general counsel for Rush University Medical Center.
10. South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta has appointed Bill Forbes as chief development officer.
11. Dennis Laraway, executive vice president and CFO of Houston-based Memorial Hermann, will join Phoenix-based Banner Health as CFO on Sept. 29.
12. Carolyn Carpenter, MHA, has been named COO and vice president of Sentara Norfolk (Virginia) General Hospital, effective September 11.
13. David Koontz, CEO of Columbus, Ga.-based St. Francis Hospital, will resign effective August.
14. Louisville-based KentuckyOne Health has fired President Joseph Gilene and CNO Shawn O'Connor, RN, DNP.
15. Providence St. Joseph Health, the organization formed through the merger of Renton, Wash.-based Providence Health & Services and Irvine, Calif.-based St. Joseph Health, named Venkat Bhamidipati executive vice president and CFO.
16. Dan Friedrich, CEO of Bradenton, Fla.-based Blake Medical Center, will retire after 15 years of service.
17. Dallas-based Parkland Health and Hospital System has announced that Richard Humphrey will take over as executive vice president and CFO beginning August 21.
18. Lesley Ogden, MD, CEO of Lincoln City, Ore.-based Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital, has also been named CEO of Newport, Ore.-based Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital.
19. Tim Hill, vice chancellor for regional campuses at the Little Rock, Ark.-based University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, will also serve as COO of UAMS Health Systems.
