Marcia Dial has served as CEO of Scotland County Hospital in Memphis, Mo., since 1988. She has been an employee of SCH for more than 38 years, starting her career as a member of the hospital's accounting staff.
Ms. Dial has overseen multiple improvements since she became CEO. Under her leadership, the hospital grew from having a $4 million gross annual budget into a roughly $30 million operation. Additionally, the hospital has opened three rural health clinics in communities served by SCH since Ms. Dial became CEO. Those clinics offer care services for fees on a sliding scale to help patients with little to no health insurance get the care they need.
Further, Ms. Dial is a skilled grant writer and has brought millions in grant money to SCH. That money funded a new women's center and other expansions and renovations at the critical access hospital.
Outside of her years of commitment to SCH, Ms. Dial also serves on various rural healthcare boards and committees, such as the Missouri Hospital Association, the Missouri Association of Rural Health Clinics, Missouri Rural Health Association, Heartland Physicians Group and the National Rural Health Association.
Ms. Dial has received state and national recognition for her years of stewardship at Scotland County Hospital. In 2011, she received Missouri Hospital Association's prestigious Visionary Leadership Award. This year, she received Becker's Healthcare's Leadership Award.
