Virtual nurse app Sensely secures $8M in funding

San Francisco-based Sensely, a company that offers a medical assistant app, has closed an $8 million series B financing round led by China-based Chengwei Capital.

Singapore-based Bioveda Ventures, San Jose, Calif.-based Fenox Venture Capital, Rochester, Minn.-based Mayo Clinic and Stanford (Calif.) StartX also participated in the round.

Sensely's technology is used for patient engagement and chronic disease monitoring.

"This funding will accelerate Sensely's mission to provide efficient and affordable care to people around the world utilizing artificial intelligence and machine tools," said Sensely Founder and CEO Adam Odessky. "The capital raised will allow us to serve our clinicians and patients much better as well as expand our presence in the U.S., U.K. and international markets."
