Grays Harbor County Public Hospital District No. 1, which includes Summit Pacific Medical Center in Elma, Wash., will launch a new EHR, MediTech, systemwide.
Here are five things to know.
1. The new software will make a patient's complete health record available at all hospital departments and Summit Pacific's three primary care clinicsm, according to a news release.
2. Staff have been preparing for the launch for more than a year, hospital officials said. In 2016, more than 75 training classes were completed, totaling more than 400 classroom hours, they added.
3. MediTech will replace multiple existing electronic and paper medical records with one integrated electronic system.
4. Hospital officials said the goal with the new EHR is "to streamline patient care for providers, nurses and other hospital staff by allowing the entire care team access to one, complete patient record, eliminating double order entry and double documentation."
5. The new EHR is scheduled to launch Jan. 1.
