Sixty-three percent of consumers believe artificial intelligence will solve complex problems like climate change, education disparities and healthcare access, according to a PwC report.
The report, titled Bot.Me: A Revolutionary Partnership, details survey responses from 2,500 U.S. consumers and business leaders regarding their attitudes toward AI.
Here are four findings related to healthcare.
1. Sixty-six percent of consumers believe AI will help solve cancer and other diseases, and 56 percent of consumers believe AI will solve general global health and well-being issues.
2. Within the next five years, 46 percent of respondents can see AI replacing human health coaches, and 22 percent can see AI replacing human physicians.
3. However, 77 percent of respondents would still prefer to visit a physician in person, rather than undergo a remote assessment with a robotic kit.
4. More than 40 percent of consumers think AI will act as an equalizer by expanding access to medical, financial, legal and transportation services to low-income populations.
