Providers suggest 9 ways for vendors to help with data security

Healthcare data security is the responsibility of everyone involved in healthcare, including vendors who are developing products and systems used by providers.

In a recent survey from peer60, hospital CIOs, security directors and vice presidents outlined their key concerns about health information security, including suggestions for how vendors can help improve healthcare data security.

Here are their 9 suggestions.

  1. Keep technology up-to-date: 24 percent
  2. Lower cost: 14 percent
  3. Design with security in mind: 13 percent
  4. Stay current with regulations and standards: 11 percent
  5. Easier to use: 10 percent
  6. More training/education: 7 percent
  7. Better understanding of healthcare: 6 percent
  8. Less sales, more communication: 5 percent
  9. Encryption: 5 percent
