Oscar Health, a New York-based unicorn health insurance startup, has recruited Alan Warren, former vice president of engineering for Google, as its new senior vice president and chief technology officer.
"Alan is one of the most experienced and accomplished engineering leaders in the world," Mario Schlosser, Oscar's CEO, wrote in a blog post on the company's site. "He comes to Oscar from Google, where he helped grow the New York office from 50 engineers to close to 3,000, and was the VP responsible for the Google Docs and Drive suite."
Oscar Health, currently valued at $2.7 billion, aims to expand its customer base from 145,000 to one million. To achieve this goal, Mr. Warren will focus his efforts on growing the company's technical infrastructure.
