The Social Security Administration can now access Novant Health's EHR to review and verify social security claims.
The federal agency can access certain patients' medical records through Novant Health's Epic EHR. This allows the SSA to quicken the process of determining eligibility for disability benefits from months down to minutes, according to Novant.
"Since implementing Novant Health's EHR, we have created efficiencies that have brought about positive changes for our patients," said Dave Garrett, senior vice president and CIO of Novant Health. "Connect to the Social Security Administration will only broaden those successes and enhance our patients' experiences with our system and team members."
