With a new acquisition, health IT vendor Allscripts is expanding its reach in Australia.
Chicago-based Allscripts acquired Core Medical Solutions, an Adelaide, South Australia-based health IT software company. The company will operate as an Allscripts subsidiary and will retain its headquarters in Adelaide.
As a result of the acquisition, Allscripts now provides IT solutions to more than 85 hospitals in Australia.
"Our acquisition by Allscripts empowers us to continue to provide Australian hospitals with the solutions they need to enhance their healthcare delivery and responsiveness," said Core Medical Solutions Cofounder Rohan Ward. "Australian hospitals will be able to deliver improved clinical care as we integrate with Allscripts' innovative products, including Sunrise PAS and EMR module, as well as EMR-agnostic population health solutions including dbMotion."
