The Nebraska Senate passed legislation requiring payers to reimburse telehealth services as they reimburse in-person services, according to a NewsOk report.
The bill allows physicians who provide care via teleconferencing tools to receive the same reimbursement as if they provided the care in-person. The state's Medicaid program already requires this reimbursement parity, and the new bill extends the requirement to private insurers.
The state's senators approved the legislation in a unanimous first-round vote. Two more votes remain before the bill is send to the governor, according to the report.
