Dallas-based Methodist Health System completed a systemwide launch of its new Epic EHR on April 1.
The simultaneous go-live encompassed all 46 of Methodist's facilities, which can now exchange secure patient records across the system.
In fall 2015, Epic trained 80 Methodist physicians on how to use the software. From then on, Methodist's own medical staff led 74 percent of Epic trainings.
"As all who have undertaken EHR transitions would attest, this was a massive endeavor," said Stephen L. Mansfield, PhD, President and CEO of Methodist. "We realize there is still work to do to optimize the system, but I am very proud of the Methodist team and their work with our Epic partners."
