On March 18, malware disrupted servers at two Prime Healthcare Services hospitals in California, according to a California Healthline report.
Prime Healthcare Services, a hospital chain based in Ontario, Calif., reported malware attacks on Chino (Calif.) Valley Medical Center in and Desert Valley Hospital in Victorville, Calif. The company reported on March 21 neither patient safety nor medical records were compromised, according to the report.
The FBI is investigating the attack.
"We received a malware attack, and we were able to identify the issue early on. The concern now is to let law enforcement do their thing and find the culprit," said Prime spokesman Fred Ortega, according to the report.
