ZocDoc, an online physician appointment booking service, closed its latest round of funding in July, raising $130 million. This funding round brings ZocDoc's valuation to $1.8 billion, making it one of the most highly valued, venture-backed companies in New York, according to the Wall Street Journal.
Baillie Gifford and Atomico, based in Scotland and London, respectively, led the latest funding round, according to the report.
ZocDoc lets people make appointments online. Physicians can pay a $3,000 annual subscription fee and advertise open appointment slots, which can be filled more quickly by people searching for appointments.
